The type of foam that you will require will depend on what it will be used for.

In our STANDARD foam range, we offer 28,33 and 38 grade foam. The firmness of the foam depends on the grade of the foam. The 28 grade foam is the softest of the standard foam range that we do and the 38 grade is the firmest that we do.
The 28 grade foam is generally used for headboards and for packaging items, in a trophy case for example. Thus, it is only available in 1/2" and 1" thick foam.
The 33 grade foam is generally used for the stools and chair seats. This is normally available in 1" and 1.5" thick foam. However, should you require the foam thicker, then we can glue 2 bits of foam together.
The 38 grade foam (sometimes known as 40 grade), is generally used for the cushions of 3 piece suites. However this is the firmest of the 3 standard foam types, so should you wish it to be slightly softer, we can offer you the 33 grade instead. The 38 grade is generally available in 3", 4" and 5" thick foam. This is also a cheaper option for a mattress as well.
